Valencia is the coastal capital of the Valencia region.

This popular holiday area is famous for its beaches.

To the north of Valencia's port are the popular beaches of, Malvarrosa, Cabanal and Las Arenas, which with their bars, restaurants and nightlife are busy 24 hours a day during the summer months.

To the south are the quiet beaches of Pinedo, El Saler and Devesa.

When not swimming or sunbathing there are lots of other activites like windsurfing, sailing and golf to keep you occupied.

Valencia Accommodation - Accommodation is registered and inspected by regional authorities, but results in variations nationwide. Hotels are classified from one to five-star, hostels/pensions are classified one to three-star. Other accommodation includes apartment-hotels, hotel-residencies, motels, self-catering, campsites, family guest houses, country villas, health spas and monasteries. There is a network of paradors, which are often converted palaces and mansions.

Food in Spain - Each region has its specialities, although a stew in various guises is to be found everywhere, together with a general use of olive oil, garlic, Mediterranean vegetables, fish on the coasts, game and sausage. The Valencia region is famous for its rice dishes like piella (rice, chicken and rabbit), arroz a banda (rice with fish) and arroz al horno (rice with sausage). The region also produces many popular wines.
