There is an enormous variety of cuisine including the more obvious option of fresh fish. One of the nice surprises whilst eating out in Ibiza is the relatively low cost. It can often be the case that it is more expensive to purchase food and cook it yourself. There are some very good restaurants in Ibiza Town. Almost all of these restaurants have paveside, terrace or garden seating in high season and comfy interiors at other times. Dalt Vila. You will find several good restaurants here inside the walls of the old castle; this historically romantic setting should be experienced by night. Marina Botafoch - the yacht harbour opposite the Castle where the 'wet-set' hang. Good restaurants in exclusive atmosphere. All of these areas are unique in their own way and each making your Ibiza experience totally unforgettable. .

Food in Spain - Ibiza's cuisine is similar to that of mainland Spain. Tuck into tasty paella, a rice-based dish often served with meat and vegetables as well as the usual fish and shellfish, or a delicious Spanish omelette with potatoes and onions. Gazpacho is an island favourite, an Andalusian soup flavoured with peppers, onion and garlic, and served chilled. The glistening waters that wash Ibiza's shores provide the island with an abundance of fresh fish, and fish soups and stews adorn most menus. For dessert, try ensaimada, a light cream-filled pastry sprinkled with sugar, or flao, a mint-flavoured cheesecake. Wash your meal down with a full-bodied red wine or a glass of the Spanish favourite, sangria, a tantalising concoction of red wine, brandy and fruit juice. For those who never stray from British cuisine, there are plenty of eateries serving everything from a full English breakfast to fish and chips, particularly in and around Ibiza Town and San Antonio. .

Tipping in Ibiza - Service and tax are usually included in hotel bills in Ibiza, but tip chambermaids, porters and waiters. Restaurants in Ibiza often include service, so a gratuity is discretionary, normally 10%-15%. Taxi drivers expect 10%-15%.
