Situated on the East Coast, Puerto del Carmen is the principle and busiest resort on the Island. The new town of Puerto Del Carmen offers a fantastic variety of both Daytime and Night-time activities to suit people of all ages and nationalities. For those who love early mornings and daytime activities or just basking in the sun this is the most perfect resort. Its main beach Playa Grande is the largest on the island and faces a long strip which hosts a huge variety of restaurants, shops and bars. For those of you that prefer the nightlife Puerto del Carmen is definitely the resort for you. With its multitude of restaurants, pubs and disco bars there is something for everybody. For the younger and more energetic there is the main centre of nightlife called Centro Atlantico where you will find many bars, discos and live music venues playing the latest sounds. For the more energetic amongst you Peurto Del Carmen offers swimming, cycling and running as these are very popular, with various bike hire shops along the main beach promenade. The surrounding waters are considered to be some of the most tranquil in the Canary Islands, they are excellent for Swimming and other water sports. .

Where to Visit in Puerto Del Carmen - Peurto Del Carmen is well situated to explore the many tourist attractions in the North of Lanzarote, such as one of the longest volcanic tunnels in the world, the Cueva de los Verdes has been protecting locals for hundreds of years and more recently delighting visitors since it was opened to the public in 1964. Also Lanzarote’s famous Cactus Garden (Jardín de Cactus), based toward the north of the island in Guatiza, is one of the islands hottest attractions all year round. .

Local Festivals in Puerto Del Carmen - Carnaval — which takes place at the end of February to the Beginning of March in Peurto Del Carmen attracts many visitors from all over Europe, joining the local residents in their celebrations. The end of July signals the Fiesta de Carmen, patron saint of Puerto del Carmen. Visitors again make the population swell as folklore performances, singing and dancing fill the night until the early hours of the morning. Specially decorated fishing boats setting out to sea, to pray for good catches in the coming year, signals the end of this particular fiesta. .

Puerto Del Carmen Climate - Puerto Del Carmen and all of Lanzorote have fantastic year round holiday weather. The maximun average temerature only varies by 8°C between summer and winter. The island also has very little rain.
